In May 2026, we will launch our Brighter Futures Programme, a scheme of educational scholarships centred on the children of the indigenous Batwa community in Uganda, giving them the chance to complete their education and shape their future.
To start the fundraising for our latest long-term initiative, our TGB community will return to trek the Kanab Creek Wilderness in the Grand Canyon, our tenth Adventures For A Cause challenge. With thousands of feet of daily descents and ascents on off-trail rugged routes deep into the canyon, we will be trekking into the solitude & wilderness of 75,000 acres of the Kanab Creek, for 3 nights camping in the wilderness, carrying all supplies & with no facilities.
Our Brighter Futures Programme will provide full scholarships for ten students from rural Batwa households to enable them to complete late primary and secondary school and progress on to university and other higher education studies. From the classroom to university graduation, our Brighter Futures Programme will walk alongside each of these pupils on their evolving journey of education. These opportunities for learning and building skills for life will be empowering and transformative.
This new and ongoing project will add to our already successful That Gorilla Brand Bwindi Community Projects, with so far over 27,000 direct beneficiaries in over 30 communities.

Through the shared paces and collective vision of our Return to Kanab Creek challenge, our actions will have a lasting impact, enabling future Batwa generations to create their own sustainable and independent lives.
